out picking......

It's a cool, wet winters day, and I just love this weather. Although it does set me back giving me every excuse not to do this or that, but just to sit and listen and chill really!! Do I do brave Coles on a Saturday? No, that would be a bad decision! We'll make do! I have flour to make bread, butter to bake and yummy coffee for myself, tea for mum and husband, milo for the kiddies. Dinner is cooking, kindly supplied by a friend! And so, to accompany our traditional comfort food called "boil up", my big boy, his friend and I went out to pick water cress down at a nearby flowing stream.
It is awesome that God has made herb pleasing  to the eye and good for food! And I am pleased that although foreigners to this beautiful country, we can still keep some traditions to help make this home!
So our God shack smells sweet, sounds sweet and is sweet warm.
Blessed by His beauty.  How do you see His blessings today?

keeping the buzz...

It's been a little quite on the home front since my dad has returned back to NZ for a further 3 months. Nevertheless, the sound of childrens playful laughter, quite whispers, loud dissagreements, song singing, and screams of laughter as they play tag, have all filled the air and continue to keep our God Shack buzzing. Love it, love them in all their uniqueness.
So in 3 months (perhaps even sooner), both my sister and father will return to Rockingham for good to join my little whanau and mum for good!
So with us all here that leaves my two brothers back in NZ...maybe they'll follow..maybe not??
We will be praying that mum might get a house here before they arrive. And if for some reason they cannot get a house, then guess what house will be bursting a seams and buzzing even louder with all sorts of comotion? Yep, ya guessed it, the.......God Shack!
May God bless all those who enter this home as we are blessed to have them enter!!

How have you seen your blessings today?

Another blessed day in my busy little God Shack!!
Winter rain, cosy pj's, hot beverages, and warm company!
Old whanau friends from my home land who are here visiting their daughter in this beautiful country, also visited us today. Pa and Ma Ngawaka, beautiful older couple. Will ahve been married for 50 years in Febuary 2013...Wow, wounderful blessing in itself!!!
He has demencha, and so we were perpared to try our best to help Pa remember who we are, and the connection between families. Well, he may have lost some of his marbles, as he called it..but sure hasn't lost his sence of humor and wittiness!! Pa had all the fast come backs flowing out of his mouth all day!!
By the time they left our home, Pa still couldn't remember the connection, but he has re-met us and so at the momnet knows who we are and is enjoying us. So the blessings today were warm and loving. And although may be short remembered, they were worth it for even the shortest of memories.

Loving and counting all our blessings.

Restart...........

Well, it's been 10 months since my last post. So it's been a wee while, and since then so much has happened! I was only 9 weeks pregnant then, still pretty new to this beautiful country, and still rather homesick for my home land of Aotearoa.
And so since then.......We now have another beautiful baby boy "Jackson Levi Rawiri" who was born 27 March 2012 weighing in at a healthy 8lb8oz, looking very brown and morerish.
My friend and partner of 16 years are now married! We had a fabulous wedding back in NZ last November. Best wedding I have been to in a long time!! We couldn't have had it any better, even the typical Auckland weather NEVER put a damper on anything!
I committed myself back into our church life and settled right in again and loving every minute of it.
This is my year of be empowered!!
When we returned here from NZ, we brought my mother back to live with us till she gets her feet grounded, dad will follow later on in the year.
My nephew also came for a 7 week holiday without mummy and daddy!
Then his daddy, my brother came over for a 4 week holiday over Christmas. Absolute fabulous times!!!!
So reluctantly and because of obligations, my brother and nephew sadly returned back to NZ.
Then in Feb, my baby (18) sister came over for a 3 week holiday. More fab times!! Sadly she then returned. Now I have my daddy here for a 3 week holiday before he sadly returns back to NZ. Yet again more fab times!! The kiddies have LOVED having their family around again!! On the upside of my dad, sister and brother returning back to NZ........They'll be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So our "God Shack" (another story) withstood the flow of buzzing people and kiddies and ALL that comes with big families the whole time of all these fun times!!! And it continues to bless us as we can bless others!!

How do you see your blessing in the buisiness of your home?

the crazy things i do......

Ok, so I'm 9 weeks hapu(pregnant), and feeling very nauseated at such a late stage! This is not the norm in comparison to the previous 5. Normally I'm over the tiredness, and feeling yuk stage by 6 weeks.....not this time! And it's a constant yukness that just hangs around almost all day, but is sure to find it's way back to me be the evening, oh boy!
Smells: The intense strength of smells that whoft past is somewhat too over powering at times. Red meat and ciggy smoke have to be the worst of them all!
Food: I love food, always have! Never been one to be fussy, and not really one to be into Mac D's. Oh but how that has changed!! Two foods that don't sit well with me at the mo, that otherwise I love are cucumber and celery. Oh not a good taste....but Mac D's YUMMO!!!!! I could live off this stuff! I have to say I haven't taken to my good friend Choco like I have in the past...Good for me:) Raw broccolli and dips are my favs!
And what about the things we find ourselves doing only when we are hapu??!!! Normally I'm a control freek, there I admitted it lol. But I have learnt just to let things pass by. But NOT while I'm hapu, no no no!
So i'll be outside hanging with the kids and there's a few old weeds under the sand that are just sitting there doing nothing, well not quite...they bug me...grrhh! So I try to let it pass because they're only old dried up weeds and when the new grass starts to grow through the sand it'll all be ok. We'll get the lawn nicely trimmed up in due time and it'll look nice...so I keep telling myself. Yeah right!! I get out a rubbish bag and out I go to quietly pick out all the ugly old weeds that need my attention lol. Before I know it, the bag is full and all the weeds taken care of. Good, now Im a happy hapu mama.....well until I see the next something crazy that NEEDS my attention :) Have a great afternoon Blogger friends, and we'll catch up soon xxx

Sun is shinning....

Morena everyone, the winter sun is out again today, the wintery breeze can still be caught, but the air is crisp and so awakening.....I love these mornings.

Enjoy this beautiful weather where ever you may be...we will be xxx

So here goes.......

Kiaora koutou, hello everyone!!
Well, I must say how nervous I am to be doing this! I have been reading a friends blogs now for about a week or 2, and I must say she has inspired me to get involved, thanks Tammi! As I read on and look at her photo's etc, I wonder to myself how this woman manages her kainga(home), homeschools her babies, crocquet and knits for fun, entertains us chicks, attends church, puts up regular blog post, and who knows what else.........and yet still has it all together????? Well my Sister-In Christ, ka mau te wehi koe : Your just awesome! Well thats just some loving to you anyway. Thank you for the inspiration. And I look forward to reading and getting to know more bloggers as my journey progresses. But this is my blog (lol), so lets turn the focus around to "ME".(lol)
I love doing arty farty, crafty things seeing the nothing take shape and form! However, I  haven't done anything since my arrival to Ahitereiria(Australia). My passion is weaving using natural resources such as Flax, and using it's natural fibre called Muka which is extracted from the leaf. I'd love to learn many crafty techniques, and I think I'm in the right place! I'm not too sure how to add photo's, but when I work it out i'll post some flax work I've done in the past. So watch this space fellow bloggers........
